Whitney Houston Sells 1 Million Albums, Singles Since Death

Singer's catalog sales surged following her death, including nearly 900,000 individual tracks moved.

Much as they did after the deaths of Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse, fans of Whitney Houston rushed out to buy the late diva's music in the wake of her passing on Saturday.

Billboard reported that Houston's only hits package, Whitney: The Greatest Hits, is poised to re-enter the Billboard 200 chart this week at #6 after selling 64,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Most amazingly, that jump in purchases represent just one full day of sales, since the reporting week ended on February 12. Houston was found dead midday in Los Angeles the day before of as-yet-undetermined causes. The uptick for the Greatest collection represents a 10,419 percent gain over the pervious week, when it moved just under 1,000 copies.

A number of other Houston albums also moved back up the charts, including her 1986 debut Whitney Houston, which jumped to #72 on sales of 8,000 (a 3,901 percent rise), the soundtrack to "The Bodyguard" (#80 on sales of 8,000, up 5,213 percent) and her final studio album, I Look to You (#118 on sales of 5,000, up 3,901 percent). The magazine reported that more Houston albums were purchased in the last week — over 101,000 — than had been sold in all of 2011 and 2012 to date.

The most impressive figures, though, were the number of digital tracks fans purchased. In all, there were 887,000 downloads over the past week, a gain of 5,730 over the previous week's 15,000 tracks sold. The biggest gainer was, of course, her signature song, "I Will Always Love You," which moved 195,000 units, a 6,742 percent gain over the previous week.

While that song enters the Digital Songs chart at #3, seven other songs hit the Digital Songs chart as well, including "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" (#25, 74,000, up 8,769 percent), "Greatest Love of All" (#32, 60,000, up 7,270 percent), "How Will I Know" (#46, 43,000, up 5,767 percent), "I Have Nothing" (#53, 38,000, up 5,179 percent), "Saving All My Love for You" (#65, 33,000, up 6,423 percent), "One Moment in Time" (#74, 30,000, up 6,206 percent) and Houston's rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" (#75, 29,000, up 8,278 percent).

Next week's chart should see an even bigger boost to Houston's catalog as it will reflect a full week of sales.

Tune in as we celebrate the life of an icon with "Whitney Houston: In Her Own Words" tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on MTV.

VALENTINE'S LOVE: T.I. Spoils Tiny +Vanessa Bryant Lands At Locker Room SMOOCH On Ex Kobe Bryant

T.I. & Tiny shared some precious moments last night for Valentine's Day.  And, of course, Mrs. Harris documented all on Twitter.  Pics of her V-Day gifts, plus Vanessa Bryant smooching it up with her ex hubby Kobe at his job inside....

Rapper T.I. professed his love for his wife by sending her roses that are taller than her, a buffet of flowers and balloons, and a live saxophone player during their in-home dinner:

And the obligatory Grand Hustle chain that'll make certain chicks swoon.  Well isn't that special.  Hood love is on the upgrade tip y'all.

Meanwhile, over in L.A., Vanessa Bryant made her way to her ex's job--the Staples Center:

She was spotted outside of the Lakers' locker room in a black coat on top of her red dress and red pumps.  And it looks like she was there to offer up congratulatory kisses to her ex-husband (divorce isn't final but is underway) Kobe Bryant as the purple boys beat the Hawks 86-78:

So how does this work?  You get a divorce because he's (allegedly) cheated on you umpteen times--and it's been formally agreed you will take half his fortune.  But do we go to our ex's job and exchange big kisses on a romantic Holiday?  I get the two are still probably close as they've been together over a decade.  And maybe they are contemplating reconciliation.  And no, the kids weren't there.  Thoughts?

BONUS: Vanessa has been spending lots of girl time with her friend Monica lately.  Monica said previously the two had been friends for a while and even more so when her hubby Shannon Brown played for the Lakers.  V was spotted at Monica's table at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party this past Saturday night:

<P>What's the point of getting all dolled up for the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys">Grammy Awards</a> if no one notices your outfit? Since not everyone can earn a nomination or score a performance slot, sometimes you have to make your own news by crashing the red carpet with an eye-popping outfit that is sure to get tongues wagging. It's anyone's guess what this year's attendees will be wearing on Sunday night at the 54th annual awards show, but MTV News will be camped out on the carpet for a full three hours before the festivities kick off and we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for all the outrageous looks and fashions. <a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/10-shocking-grammy-red-carpet-moments/1678986/6893746/photo.jhtml" target="_blank"><b><big>Click for photos of our most-shocking Grammy red carpet moments!</b></big></a> In the meantime, we thought it was worth a look back at some of the legendary entrances from Grammys past: </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="id:1678854" width="240" height="211"></div><p> <B>Lady Gaga egg</B>: Sure, Justin Bieber toted his pet snake to last year's show, but it was, of course, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> who turned the most heads by getting carried down the carpet in a <a href="/news/articles/1657833/lady-gaga-grammy-arrival-egg.jhtml">giant, see-through egg</a> that she incubated in before emerging later in the night for her performance of "Born This Way." <B>Britney gets bodied</B>: Britney Spears has long prided herself on wearing what she wants, when she wants. But someone should have pulled her aside in 2010 before she exited the car in an oddball Dolce &amp; Gabbana bodysuit overlaid with a lace dress that turned heads for all the wrong reasons. <B>M.I.A.'s pregnancy chic</B>: With her <a href="/news/articles/1678599/mia-super-bowl-halftime-middle-finger.jhtml">middle finger</a> firmly tucked into place, the rapper/singer made her way into the <a href="/news/articles/1604583/mia-talks-baby-slumdog-at-grammys.jhtml">2009 show while nine-months pregnant</a> in a cartoony, ruffled blue maternity dress and matching sneakers. <B>Coldplay play dress up</B>: It was kind of cool when Coldplay stuck with their bold Sgt. Pepper's-style suits for the whole <I>Viva La Vida</I> tour. But when they wore them to the <a href="/news/articles/1604580/lil-wayne-coldplay-win-big-at-grammys.jhtml">2009 show</a>, it just felt ... silly. <B>OK Go ... back to the drawing board</B>: Viral icons OK Go are experts at drawing attention to their music with trippy, how-did-they-do-that videos. They drew mostly sniggers, though, when they donned matching brocade curtain-looking red-and-gold suits to the 2007 show. Their smartest move may have been to cover their faces with red cloth. <B>R. Kelly, man of mystery</B>: Kels has made a career out of being inscrutable , but his bold sartorial choice at the 2004 Grammys was, well, weird. From the neck down he wore an elegant three-button black suit and tie, but the matching Robin mask? Who knows? <B>Alicia Keys gets funky</B>: Nobody really knows what Keys was thinking in 2002 when she walked the carpet wearing embroidered jeans, sandals, a white tank and a sheer green sari-like shift with a built in, bedazzled headdress. <B>Toni Braxton lets it all hang out</B>: Sometimes it's what you <I>don't</I> wear that gets attention. In 2001, singer Braxton sported a barely-there white "dress" that hardly covered her assets with strips of material that dangled in the front and back. <B>Jennifer Lopez's plunging neckline</B>: Way before she was an "American Idol" judge, Lopez sent hearts racing in 2000 with her instantly infamous plunging neckline Versace gown. <b>Chaos! Profanity! Wardrobe malfunctions! Don't miss our <a href="/news/articles/1678706/grammy-awards-red-carpet-live-stream.jhtml">Grammy red-carpet live stream</a> this Sunday, February 12, for a full three hours of mayhem, starting at 5 p.m. ET on MTV.com. <P>It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories. "I had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good." </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:647708" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m." "Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory &#8212; because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?" While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]." Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life." "My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb &amp; Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' " Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night." Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy." <i>Share your prom memories in the comments below!</i></p>

'X Factor' Michael Jackson Night Has Singers On Edge

Meanwhile, Paula Abdul has been absent from the set since her final group was eliminated last week.

<P><i>MTV News' own Jim Cantiello is exclusively covering "The X Factor" rehearsals. Read on for his fly-on-the-wall backstage report!</i> <b>LOS ANGELES</b> &#8212; "The X Factor" top seven are back on the lot after their first (and only) mini-vacation of the season. And as the Thanksgiving tryptophan wears off, the anxiety of another double elimination is setting in. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:714741" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Adding to the stress? "The X Factor" is tackling the songs of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson</a> on Wednesday night (November 30), on the 29th anniversary of <i>Thriller</i>'s release, no less. One of the contestants is so stressed over the theme he's emerged as a total perfectionist. During Monday's rehearsals, he had already nixed multiple arrangements the show had provided him. "This is the most unprepared I've felt on a Monday," he said to his mentor as they rushed out of Stage 36. There was a camera crew chasing them to capture the drama &#8212; as well as the ensuing late-night emergency meeting with the vocal coaches &#8212; so don't be surprised if some of this intense footage ends up in your living room. (This afternoon's dress rehearsal went swimmingly, for the record.) Meanwhile, one contestant had a full-on battle with his/her mentor over a chair. The mentor said, "Sit and sing." The contestant said, "Again?! How about I do something on my feet for Michael Jackson week?" Another mentor came to the defense of the contestant. In the end, the contestant is sitting after all. Don't worry, contestant. The eerie arrangement of an MJ classic is what folks are going to be buzzing about. No one will care if you sit or stand. In the control room, I spied one of the bigwigs utter the word "brilliant!" after the contestant's dress rehearsal. Another hot topic: wardrobe! When paying homage to one of the biggest music icons ever, it's tempting for the stylists to include clothing nods to Michael's various looks. But several singers are worried they'll look too much like Jackson impersonators, which has caused many a headache in the wardrobe trailer. But stylist June Ambrose is still able to keep things light in the midst of the drama. While waiting around for a contestant's last-minute fitting, she started an impromptu MJ dance party on the lot. Crotch grabs and "woo" included! Lastly, Paula Abdul's sunny energy has been noticeably absent on the CBS lot now that all her groups have been eliminated. She went from being the most hands-on mentor to an on-set ghost. "The X Factor" family can't wait to welcome her back for her first live show as strictly a judge. What do you think she's been doing with her newfound free time? <b>You can catch Jim on the "X Factor Pepsi Pre-Show," streaming at 7 p.m. ET tonight on <a href="http://www.thexfactorusa.com/" target="_blank">TheXFactorUSA.com</a>!</b></p>

'Dark Knight Rises' Again: Five Batman Reboot Ideas

We pick the story and director for a post-Christopher Nolan Batman film in The Weekly Rising.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Christian Bale in "The Dark Knight Rises"
Photo: Jared Wickerham/ Getty Images

Christopher Nolan wants you to know something about "The Dark Knight Rises." The Legend Ends. All the posters declare it, and the trailer features Bane carrying the broken cowl. But even though it seems like the director is trying to end the series, Warner Bros. has already spoken about intentions to reboot Batman shortly after Nolan finishes.

But where do you go after Nolan? The man redefined comic book movies, so a follow-up would need to be just as innovative. With so much source material to pull from, it would be wise of Warner Bros. to look there for their next direction.

We did them the favor of combining some well-known Batman storylines and worthy directors just to save them the trouble. Here are our concepts for Batman reboots:

"Bruce Wayne: The Lost Years," Directed by John Hillcoat
What was Bruce up to all of those years away from Gotham? "Batman Begins" touched on the subject briefly, but surely Wayne saw more action than stealing a few boxes from Wayne Enterprises. The director of "The Proposition" and "The Road," John Hillcoat has the style gritty enough to handle the globe-trotting adventures of Wayne as he gets to know the criminal world. Plus, this is a storyline only barely touched on by Nolan but connected enough to attract an audience — the only drawback being he couldn't wear the suit.

"Batman Beyond," Directed by Rian Johnson
If Warner Bros. wants to make a direct sequel to Nolan's trilogy, the sequel to the original animated series may be their best bet. A fan favorite for years, "Batman Beyond" follows a new, younger Batman who learns under the tutorship of an aged Bruce Wayne. Rian Johnson may not be a name you recognize now, but after September's "Looper," he certainly will be. The thriller takes place in the near future and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the same man who is rumored to be taking over for Christian Bale.

"Gotham by Gaslight," Directed by Guy Ritchie
Say what you will about the quality of Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" movies, they have a look and style of their very own. Bruce Wayne's one-shot trip back in time to 19th-century Gotham would fit perfectly into the style Ritchie established with his first two Holmes movies and would give the director a chance to find his edge again. If any superhero deserves a gratuitous amount of slow motion, it's Batman.

"The Dark Knight Returns," Directed by Darren Aronofsky
The director of "Black Swan" turned down an opportunity to direct "Batman Begins" before Nolan took over, but Aronofsky has been itching to direct a superhero movie ever since then, taking an unsuccessful stab at "The Wolverine." One of the darkest Batman runs, "The Dark Knight Returns" would make perfect fodder for Aronofsky and give a solid break from the previous trilogy. But with DC making an animated original movie, we'll wait and see what comes of that version before ordering a live-action remake.

Grant Morrison's "Batman and Robin," Directed by Matthew Vaughn
This one may be a stretch because of its connection to "The Dark Knight Rises," but in some ways it would be a total departure. In Morrison's series, the world believes Bruce Wayne has died, so Dick Grayson, the original Robin, takes up the cowl and takes over for his former master. The kicker here is that Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce and Talia al Ghul, is Robin, and he doesn't shy away from lethal force.

Check out everything we've got on "The Dark Knight Rises."

Celine Dion: Showbiz to Blame for Whitney Houston's Death

The cause of Whitney Houston's death this weekend won't be officially determined until the results of a toxicology report are released in four to six weeks, but fellow singing diva Celine Dion believes that it was the 48-year-old's celebrity lifestyle -- and not one specific incident -- that is to blame for Whitney's passing.

<P><b>LOS ANGELES</b> &#8212; <a href="/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> makes headlines at concerts, even when she's not performing. That's probably why Los Angeles radio station KIIS FM tapped the pop princess to guest-host their annual Wango Tango music festival along with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday night at the Staples Center. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:652696" width="240" height="211"></div><p> The bill was a balance of pop and hip-hop, with acts like Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Selena Gomez, "Glee" 's Matthew Morrison, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Jason Der&#252;lo, Far East Movement, New Boyz, Cobra Starship and newcomer Cody Simpson. Backstage, the media room went into a frenzy when Spears arrived in a red, geometric-print dress and a beaming smile. Owning her "femme fatale" moniker, Spears worked the carpet for a few moments while all of the cameras in the room were pointing at her. It was the second red carpet appearance by Brit this week, after her Beverly Hills benefit on Wednesday night for <a href="/news/articles/1663732/britney-spears-st-bernard-project.jhtml">the St. Bernard Project</a>. <a href="/photos/keha-britney-spears-selena-gomez-and-many-more-at-wango-tango-2011/1663910/6129255/photo.jhtml"><b>Check out photos from Wango Tango 2011.</b></a> Spears' <i>Femme Fatale</i> collaborator <a href="/news/articles/1639312/justin-bieber-usher-ignite-crowd-at-kiis-fms-wango-tango.jhtml">Ke$ha, who was returning to the festival</a> for the second time, said that an onstage collab between to the two would have to require one thing. "That would have to include me finding her and attacking her," Ke$ha told MTV News, with the best intentions. "I'm planning on pouncing her." While that never happened, at least not onstage, Ke$ha delivered on her promise of a set heavy on her glitter gun. And she assured us she knew the dos and don'ts of handling that kind of firepower. "Do not spray yourself in the face with it," she said. "Do spray everybody else with it. That's pretty much it." While Joe Jonas wasn't performing at the show, he took a break from recording his solo debut to catch up with almost everyone backstage. "I didn't see Britney backstage, just said 'hello' to a couple of my friends," Jonas said. "Backstage is always [full of] people, especially having it at the Staples Center this time, I think compared to all the way out in the desert, it changes everything." Also happy to have Wango Tango in Los Angeles were locals Far East Movement. "Man, we grew up literally a few blocks away from here, and you can only imagine basketball games being played here," Kev Nish said. "So to come in here as performers, to be able to do our songs in this arena is a little crazy. We used to pass out CDs a few blocks [away], so we're very thankful. And the lineup is nuts, so we're extremely excited to be a part of this lineup." <i>Were you at Wango Tango? Share your experience in the comments below!</i></p>

Robert Plant And Alison Krauss Win Grammy Album Of The Year

Raising Sand, from Led Zeppelin vet and bluegrass superstar, wins five Grammys on Sunday night.
By James Montgomery with MTV News staff

Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images

<P>"I'm bewildered," <a href="/music/artist/plant_robert/artist.jhtml">Robert Plant</a> said onstage as he accepted the <MTVNLINK type="news" id="1604580">Grammy Album of the Year award</MTVNLINK> with <a href="/music/artist/krauss_alison/artist.jhtml">Alison Krauss</a> on Sunday night. "In the old days we would have called this selling out, but it's a good way to spend a Sunday." He was probably one of the few who were surprised, because <i>Raising Sand,</i> which won five trophies at Sunday night's show, is in many ways the perfect <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys/">Grammy</a> album. It features two respected veterans, a critically lauded producer, some sandpaper-and-velvet vocals and a baker's dozen of time-tested standards.</p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:338316" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="configParams=instance%3Dnews%26vid%3D338316" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></div><p> You're probably familiar with Robert Plant from his <a href="/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</a> days, and you might be aware of producer T-Bone Burnett's work on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack (it won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2002). And if you don't know who Alison Krauss is, she possesses a haunting set of pipes and is one of the meanest fiddle players in the world. Oh, and she's won 21 Grammys, more than any other female artist and the seventh-most in history. Really, she's the key to <i>Sand</i>'s success, and not just because of her voice (or her fiddle playing). She and Plant first met in 2004, at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute to legendary bluesman Leadbelly, and the former Zeppelin man was amazed by her knowledge of American Roots music &#8212; so much so that they began kicking around the idea of recording an album together. Three years later, <i>Sand</i> was released. And while Plant possesses the more famous voice, the album's finest moments radiate from Krauss. Whether she's getting bluesy on Little Milton's "Let Your Loss Be Your Lesson" or entwining with Plant's husky voice on songs like "Please Read the Letter" and Roly Salley's winsome "Killing the Blues," she more than carries her end of the bargain. And perhaps that's also due to producer Burnett, who handpicked the 13 songs the duo cover on <i>Sand.</i> His arrangements are sparse &#8212; giving the two voices ample room to breathe &#8212; yet dense, warm and crackling at the same time. It's a testament to his work that he's often given just as much billing as Plant and Krauss on the project ... and it's certainly justified. To date, <i>Sand</i> has sold more than 1 million copies, heaped tons of acclaim and actually earned a Grammy last year &#8212; "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)" took home the award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. One expert was surprised not by the album's success, but by the fact that it's actually quite a good album. "At first, the album seemed like a vanity project. ... Two names, clearly a one-off record, didn't have to be any good, you know?" <i>New York Times</i> music critic Jon Caramanica said. "Led Zeppelin fans would buy it because of Robert Plant, Alison Krauss would get a check. But it actually turned out to be a really thoughtful, really <i>good</i> record. So when you combine all that with the fact that the Grammys love to lionize one of their own, I could really see it taking home some awards." </p>

Selma Blair was seen carrying her 6-month-old son Arthur in his infant car seat in Los Angeles, Calif. on Thursday (February 9). While walking home - the actress checked on her little one to make sure he was still sleeping soundly.

Congrats to Selma who has just landed a role in Charlie Sheen's new show Anger Management. She'll be playing Kate - a fellow therapist who is also a best friend with benefits.

RED CARPET FAB: Rihanna, Kelly, Adele, Taraji, Wiz & Amber & More Hit The 2012 GRAMMYS

Rihanna was among the fabulous celebs who was the red carper for tonight's 2012 Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in LA.  See fab pics of Alica Keys, Kelly Rowland and others inside.....

Rih brought her daddy and little bro Rajad as her dates for the carpet.

The "Cheers" singer shook things up on the red carpet in this revealing Armani gown that she designed with Mr. Armani himself.  She said on the red carpet that he's starting to trust her designs more.

Rihanna's dress is simple but it simply screams sex!

She caught up with the "Super Bass" girls Sophia Grace & Rosie on the red carpet too.  Cute!

Nicki Minaj arrived with a Roman Catholic priest in a daring red Atelier Versace Couture "costume" with the Versace Medusa embellished on it. Bishop Long must have been busy.

I love Taraji P. Henson, but she should have chosen a more flattering dress because she can pull off a hot dress.  Her frock is a halter pink and cheetah mermaid gown by Brian Rennie for Basler. Not loving this one though.

Taraji also said she's working on a music project but wants to make sure it's authentic so it won't turn off her fans.

Kelly Rowland and this big hair....which she has been rocking all weekend.  And I love it.  She wore an Alberta Ferreti gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.  One of my fave looks of the night.

She posed with DJ Khaled and Rick Ross on the red carpet.

Alicia Keys (who did a tribute to Etta James alongside Bonnie Rait) arrived with her husband Swizz Beatz who rocked a bold purple bowtie and velvet sportcoat.  Totally underwhelmed by Alicia's Alexandre Vauthier and Louboutin look.

Ice T was with wife CoCo who revealed SHE has a kissing scene coming up on his "Law And Order" show and it's not with Ice!

John Legend arrive with his fiance Chrissy Teigen.

Common kept it regular with his look.....which is what we love about him.

Young Money is in the building!

LL Cool J, who is handling hosting duties, looked great.

LL Cool J arrived with his wife Simone.

Gospel duo Mary Mary rocked sisterly variations of black and silver.

Adele looked stunning (and fit) in this Armani gown. Another one of my simple yet elegant faves of the night.

Marsha Ambrosius tweeted about Whitney saying, It was a hard day for everyone yesterday. Celebrating and mourning "all at once..." On my way to The Grammys. Surreal. So real!

Wiz Khalifa walked the red carpet with Amber Rose who wore a Versace gown and Christian Louboutin shoes. I want somebody to sneak and check her tag because this looks a but cheap to be Versace. Maybe it's not the dress itself....

Amber added that she wore black and yellow in honor of Wiz--who rocked Dolce & Gabbana and Louboutin shoes.  He jokingly said wearing those shoes makes him feel like it's the first day of high school, and that Amber is the baddest chic at the high school.  He also said they will be engaged soon.....sigh.

Melanie Fiona also rocked black and yellow.  She also picked up the Best Traditional R&B Performance award and Best R&B Sing award (both for her single with Cee-Lo Green “Fool For You”) in the pre-show.

Kirk Franklin looked mighty shiny on the red carpet.  He arrived with wife Tammy Collins.

And J. Cole tweeted this uber cute pic of himself with his mom on the red carpet.  I'm not even a huge fan of Mr. Cole but he is looking damn good on this carpet tonight.

Charlie Wilson.....sigh.  He's a legend so if he want to rock an S-curl, Uncle Charlie can do that.

Corrine Bailey Rae went ALL THE WAY with the ruffles in this dress by Christian Siriano.  It's actually a cute fun dress.  Kinda loving it.

Ledisi worked a sliver gown with sequins.

Bruno Mars wore Thom Browne.  And his usual bouffant 'do.

AJ Calloway broke out the white leather loafers.

And Miss Ross walked the red carpet with son Evan.

Shaggy was also there.....we haven't heard from him in a minute.
